Iomega ZIP Drive Click of Death Page

JohnKalpus.com

The Click of Death is the sound that an Iomega ZIP drive makes
when it can no longer read the data on a 100mb ZIP disk. This
menacing sound means that the read-write heads are no longer
in alignment with the cartridge. This results in the loss of the
ability of the drive to read the disk. The head tries to repeatedly
read the disk over and over and over...Bummer.

Solutions?
Contact Iomega and ask them to send you a new drive. As for
the data on the old disk, say bye bye. It seems that the C.O.D.
may also spread to other drives from the "infected"  disk.
Download the program,Trouble in Paradise.exe. listed below.

As Martha Stewart would say, "It's a good thing!"

Click to hear the "Click of Death."

Diagnosis:
Download the excellent utility Trouble in Paradise.exe from

the fine folks who make Spin Rite --- www.grc.com.

This will check your ZIP drive for the potential of your ZIP
drive experiencing the The Click of Death. Good luck.
