Problems with "Hibernate" mode in Windows ME

In Windows Millenium Edition, ME, there are two power-saving features called Suspend and Hibernate. Although Suspend is easier to shut down and restart, it is potentially more troublesome. Suspend also consumes much more power than Hibernate mode. For that reason I recommend putting your laptop into Hibernate mode when you want the ability to restart the computer very quickly. However, even Hibernate can sometimes refuse to come out of hibernation. This can be caused by device drivers being incompatible with the Hibernate service.

When this happens, Windows ME will write a file called nohiber.txt and list the offending drivers. Search for and view this file and then upgrade those drivers which are uncooperative in the hibernate mode. Good luck!
