Switching from a Multi-boot to a Single-boot system Page

Here's the scenario: You installed Windows 95 or Windows 98 on your PC, then you installed NT on top of that installation. This automatically creates a multi-boot system. When you boot your machine you're greeted with a simple boot menu. "Do you want to boot to Windows 95/98 or NT?" You select either OS with your curson buttons and hit Enter. Fine.

Now you want to remove one of the OS'es and revert to a single-boot system. Here's how you do it:

1. Delete the directory/folder where the To-Be-Removed OS is residing. You DID install the OS'es in separate partitions/folders, didn't you?

2. After deletion, you'll need to "SYS" the HD. SYSing the HD copies the necessary surviving OS files to the root directory. When completed this will remove the boot menu upon startup.

3. SYS the HD by booting to a DOS prompt. Type sys c: to SYS your "C" drive. Substitute your drive letter for "C."

4. Reboot.
