Palm OS PDAs / Handspring Visor Page

PDAs, or Personal Digital Assistants,
gained national attention with the introduction of the Palm "Pilot" in 1996.
Since then many different types of PDAs from different manufacturers have tried to either
copy or improve on the Palm and the Palm OS,
notably the Casiopeia and HP Jornada running the Windows CE platform.
In 1998, the inventors of the original Palm founded Handpspring, Inc., and started
marketing the "Visor" PDA which runs the Palm OS. The visor includes an
upgrade port on the back side allowing the installation of peripherals like modems,
digital camera
modules, backup modules, GPS devices, etc.
I use a Visor Deluxe with 8mb of RAM for my personal contacts, financial
information synched from the Internet, scheduling, and, yes, even a game or
two! (-;
For obtaining info from the Net I use AvantGo software.
